Are you a traditional Christmas person or a more contemporary Christmas person? Are you the one that loves the latest purple christmas trees or do you lean toward the traditional christmas tree with white or even colored lights? I'm definitely a traditional, far right leaner on the Christmas decor. I love white lights and older, vintage style ornaments. This card speaks of that to me. I took a wild wasabi base and stamped it a few times with the holly image from Pines and Poinsettias. I then sponged it with some Soft Suede to give it an even more vintage feel. I added some Holly Berry Bouquet DSP to the two bottom panels. It's hard to tell in the photo, but the card actually has 3 folds. The roses are a fold, the top is a fold and the stripes are a fold. That means the top sold green part opens separate from the bottom two. For my focal point, I stamped the pine cone image using markers in Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi and Real Red on Very Vanilla. I then cut it out to fit inside of the Chocolate Chip frame. I then added the tag and twine with some bells. I used sticky strip to add the Real Red Satin Ribbon and then mounted my focal point over the end of that using dimensionals. For one final touch, I added some Dazzling Details to the berries. I hope you all have a fabulous Monday and I will hopefully be back soon with more samples for you!
I think that we are a mix. We have an artificial (green) tree with white lights. I have a ribbon garland printed with poinsettias in red, shades of green, and gold. Then we have traditional lighter green ball ornaments and some in white with red and green peppermint stripes. Our topper is a frosted champagne gold color in a style just like I grew up with. (two ball shapes stacked with a spire shape on top) Then the rest of the ornaments are blingy glitter-covered shapes...snowflakes, bows, churches, pinecones, birds, keys, etc. So it is fairly traditional with a twist. I do have two fiber-optic trees around the house and a foil wreath with a light-up bow and a small foil tree with lights. We put up a traditional wreath in the entry. So, a mix...I'd say.
