Reversible Headbands

I made these back in the fall and have been wanting to share them with you ever since. Life got crazy and I didn't have time. But, today, finally I am able to share them with you. You will see the pink Flirtatious Fabric below as well as some other fabric that I had on hand. With Stampin' Up! fabric the colors are already coordinated for you and it is the perfect size to get multiple headbands from one set. I will definitely be getting more SU! fabric and make more. Too fun!

Catching up on a rainy day...

Oh good grief. Sorry I have been gone so long. School has consumed my life this year. Between teaching and having a high schooler that is involved in so many things means blogging has taken the back burner. I'm going to add a few posts today to share a few things that I haven't been able to share. This are not the greatest photos since it is raining and dark today but hopefully you will get the gist.

This first set uses the Mixed Bunches stamp set. Now, this stamp set and the punch are in the new catalog that begins on June 1st. But, since it has been awhile send I made these samples, some of the paper and accessories are from the Sale-A- Bration goodies.

I tweaked this one from the catalog.

This idea is also from Stampin' Up! I love the idea of stamping the image of the flower out and putting the DSP behind it. Isn't that cool?

New Occasions Mini Catalog for 2012

Happy New Year! With the new year brings a new Occasions Mini Catalog as well.

There are so many fun things in here. Some new and innovative ones that you are sure to love. Check out the new Dielits and Edgelits on pages 6 & 7. Oh my! Pines & Poinsettias

I played around with the Pines & Poinsettias stamp set and came up with this card. It looks like I tried to use as many things from the Holiday Mini as possible. :-) I started with a Early Espresso base. I added some Holly Berry Bouquet DSP and even some circles of DSP under the Earl Espresso quilted ribbon. The very vanilla was stamped using markers directly to the stamp. Then some dazzling details on the berries. I also added some champaigne glitter to the edge for a little added bling. I layered it on some Wild Wasabi with dimensionals, then layered that on with some more dimensionals. I stamped the greeting with versa mark and embossed it with clear embossing powder and cut out. I then adhered it with glue dots and added some pearls that were colored with a sharpie marker. I hope you enjoy!

 

Pines and Poinsettias

Are you a traditional Christmas person or a more contemporary Christmas person? Are you the one that loves the latest purple christmas trees or do you lean toward the traditional christmas tree with white or even colored lights? I'm definitely a traditional, far right leaner on the Christmas decor. I love white lights and older, vintage style ornaments. This card speaks of that to me. I took a wild wasabi base and stamped it a few times with the holly image from Pines and Poinsettias. I then sponged it with some Soft Suede to give it an even more vintage feel. I added some Holly Berry Bouquet DSP to the two bottom panels. It's hard to tell in the photo, but the card actually has 3 folds. The roses are a fold, the top is a fold and the stripes are a fold. That means the top sold green part opens separate from the bottom two. For my focal point, I stamped the pine cone image using markers in Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi and Real Red on Very Vanilla. I then cut it out to fit inside of the Chocolate Chip frame. I then added the tag and twine with some bells. I used sticky strip to add the Real Red Satin Ribbon and then mounted my focal point over the end of that using dimensionals. For one final touch, I added some Dazzling Details to the berries. New Belle Blossoms

I participated in a craft fair last weekend and took my Belle Blossoms along. I thought you might like to see some of the newest additions to the Belle line. I had fun coming up with some new Belle Blossom designs. I made these three with the Fun Flowers Die. I'm calling it the Peony. Like all of my other Belles these are made with polar fleece. I love how this one turned out.

The Dahlias are not new but I added a cream one and a mustard yellow one. Aren't they great fall colors.

This next batch is what I am calling the Zinnias. They are not made with a Die. I have to cut those by hand.

Then there is the Rose that is also cut by hand. This cream on is my favorite.

Then finally there are the Trios (of rosettes) that I made using the Clear Circle Die. These ones come with a headband but also comes with a clip so you can wear it on the head band, just in your hair or even on a sweater. They are so cute.

Christmas Card Class & Bow Maker

Hi Gang. I bet you all thought I fell off the face of the earth. Well, I kind of feel like I did. I have been so busy this fall. I began teaching a history class this year and it has consumed what little time I had left after all of my other duties. I did manage to have my annual Christmas Card Stamp A Stack a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to share those cards with you. The photos are not great because it is so cloudy and gloomy here today.

The first card uses Aaron's Bow Maker that he created for me to use in my card class. They were a huge hit and made typing these bows so easy. This was probably the overall favorite card the group did. Simple elegance.

I'll try to post more regularly but I can't make any promises. We are on break this week since I have time to post today. I hope you enjoy!

 

Aaron's Bow Maker

A couple of weeks ago, I had my annual Christmas Card class. In the card below you will see a double looped ribbon. I asked my 14 year old son to make me a bow maker to help the ladies tie their bows more quickly and and consistently. He and his dad put their ideas together and came up with the bow maker you see below. They made me 16 of them and every lady that attended the classes wanted to purchase one. Even those that already owned other bow makers. It is so easy to use. 

Each bow maker includes one blow and 4 dowels. The two smaller ones are perfect for making cards and bows for small gifts. The two larger dowels are great for make large bows for packages and even wreaths.

Be Strong

Is this little guy funny or what? I love the mustache. You've seen this layout before. I tend to like it. But I do mix it up a bit. For example, I centered the focal point on this one and I added the twine around the end. So don't always take the same layout and you fall back to and make it exactly the same. Challenge yourself to do something a little different on it. For the base on this card, I used Daffodil Delight and ran it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Impression folder. I then used some Whisper White stock and covered it with some Big Top DSP with a strip of Real Red on the end. I wrapped around some twine and added a little tab of Real Red Satin Ribbon. Next I added a little tag of Daffodil Delight that I made using the greeting from this set and the Jewelry Tag Punch. I added this to the card base using dimensionals. For my focal point I stamped the image from Under the Big Top using black Stazon Ink on watercolor paper. I then colored it with my aqua pinter and matching ink: Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Daffodil Delight and a little Blush Blossom. I hope you have a great Friday!
