Fun to Stamp

A Slice of Life Treat

Did you notice the cute little Level 1 hostess set in the Occasions Mini Catalog? Isn't it cute! It's called A Slice of Life. I decided to play around with it a bit. I took this color combo from the Color Coach. I began with a Soft Suede base that I ran through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Impression Folder. Next i ran a piece of Pink Pirouette through using the Square Lattice Impression Folder. I then added a strip of Shimmery White to the bottom edge that I punched with the scallop trim border punch. For a little more texture, I ran a piece of Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon around it before mounting it on my card. For my focal point, I stamped my image in Black Stazon and colored it using my Aqua Painter and Ink Pads in Soft Suede, Certainly Celery & Pink Pirouette. I always outline my coloring with a little Blush Blossom ink to make it stand out just a little bit more. I then added a little Pink Pirouette flower from the Boho Blossoms punch that I sponged the edges with the same color ink and curled the tips a bit for more depth. I added it with a glue dot. I also made three little tags in the Shimmery White, Pink Pirouette & Certainly Celery and stamped each one using the Tiny Tags stamp set. I ran some linen thread through all three and tied them together. They are mounted under neath the focal point with a glue dot. The assemble the focal point, I added a 1 3/4" Circle punch of Certainly Celery with dimensionals and then the focal point that I punched out with the XL Decorative Label punch using dimensionals. Finally the three little green rhinestones were added for a little more texture. (As usual I colored them with a lime colored Sharpie.)

 

Hungry for another cupcake?

Are you hungry for another little cupcake or maybe 4? This one took me awhile. I had it in my head and struggled getting it together, but I'm pleased with the result. I began with a Chocolate Chip base that I ran through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Impression Folder. I then layered some Crumb Cake Card Stock with a piece of Regal Rose DSP and tied a piece of Early Espresso Grosgrain Ribbon around that and mounted it with dimensionals. I then began creating cupcakes. Three with Regal Rose holders that have Chocolate Chip ribbons around them. I then created their frosting using Chocolate Chip that is stamped off and full strength sprinkles. I then created one cupcake with the reverse colors, a Chocolate Chip base with a Regal Rose frosting that is stamped off once and then full strength sprinkles. These were all mounted on 1 3/4" Whisper White Circles. (Dimensionals under the holders & under the 1 3/4" Circles) To create my focal point I mounted a Pear Pizzaz Word Window over the Pink Cupcake base & finished it off with a little flower from the same stamp set that I colored with markers and added a rhinestone to.  I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Create a Cupcake with Bling

I played around with the Create a Cupcake set from the Occasions Mini Catalog yesterday and had so much fun. Don't you just love this set. On it's own it's just adorable, but having the coordinating punch just makes it so easy. How about the bling on this puppy? Are you hoarding your rhinestones? What for? They are so cheap and they add such a punch for the money & they can be purple like these lovelies. Or they can be any color you desire as long as you have a handful of sharpie markers around. Speaking of color, what do you think of this combo? Old Olive, Rich Razleberry & Pumpkin Pie. I love it. It's so bright and cherry. It makes me happy. For the base, I began with a piece of Old Olive that I ran through my Big Shot with the Square Lattice Impression folder. I then took a piece of Pumpkin Pie Card stock (for stability) and a piece of Pumpkin Pie DSP (from the Brights set) and cut them the same size and stuck them together and mounted the whole pice with dimensionals on my base. Next, I cut a strip of Rich Razzleberry and gave it a scallop border, notice it doesn't go all the way across the card. I then added some Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon for a little more texture to balance all of the bling. I adhered that strip to the Pumpkin Pie layer. I added my greeting in Basic Black just above the scallops. (Do that before you add your focal point and push it to the left as far as you can so you will have room for the focal.) For my focal point, I punched out a scallop circle with my Big Shot in Old Olive and adhered it with dimensionals over the edge of the scallop trim. I then punched out a Whisper White circle with my 1 3/4" circle punch and layered that with SNAIL. Now for the cupcake, I stamped a Rich Razzleberry top and an Old Olive bottom and punched them out. I then created my candles using Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight. I glued the candles together and added them to the frosting. I added the cupcake to the Whisper White circle using dimensionals (A single layer under the top and a double layer under the bottom for added texture.). And for the finishing touch is all of the lovely purple rhinestones. So, are you hoarding your rhinestones? Pull them out and use them. It will make you smile, I promise.

 

Love Impressions #6

This is the final card we did for the Love Impressions Class. This one is so simple but makes such an impact because of the strong focal point. I ran some Real Red card stock through my Big Shot using the new Framed Tulip Impression folder on page 28 of the Occasions Mini. I then used the large white heart rub-on and put it on Basic Black card stock and cut it out with scissors. I then mounted it on the Real Red base using dimensionals of course. I then used another rub-on and put it on a 1/2" wide piece of window sheet and cut the ends like a banner. I adhered it to the card and then added another Red Glimmer heart over the end using a dimensional. For the finishing touch, I colored a pearl black with a sharpie and added it to the heart. Did you notice that all of the projects used the Red Glimmer paper? I guess it could have been a Glimmer class. I love that stuff and a little goes a long way. Enjoy! 

Love Impressions Milk Cartons

On Saturday the ladies made two of these Milk Cartons using the Big Shot Milk Carton die for the Big Shot. One in red with regular M&Ms and the black one contains dark chocolate M&Ms (my personal favorite). One one has a Red Glimmer heart and of course some of the Love Impressions Rub-Ons. These are pretty straight forward.

More Love Impressions

Saturday was the Love Impression Rub-On Class. Despite the yucky weather we had a great time. I share the rest of our projects the next couple of days. For this cute square card, I used the square scallop clear die with my Big Shot to create the shape and then ran it back through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Impression Folder to give it some texture. I then added the extra large heart Rub-On to a piece of Whisper White card stock and then mounted it on a piece of Basic Black. Next, I added some Black Satin Ribbon around the back and to the front and trimmed the end. This whole piece was then mounted on the card using dimensionals. For the xo I used another smaller rub-on on Whisper White and punched it out with the 1" circle punch. and mounted it with a dimensional. Then I added a Red Glimmer heart using the heart to heart punch. And to finish the whole thing off I added a clear rhinestone for a little bling. Simple, but cute!

Nature Walk Bird

If you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator you may recognize this card. Shalae Brown posted a video on the Stampin' Connect site (for demos only - sorry) demonstrating the new Framed Tulip Impression Folder on page 28 of the Occasions Mini Catalog. She did a card similar to this one. I just jazzed it up a little more.

I started out with a base layer of Very Vanilla card stock. I then took a piece of Botanical Gazette DSP that I can through the Big Shot using the Framed Tulip Impression Folder. This piece was then adhered over the top half of the Vanilla base. With a little sanding you can really distress it even more around the edges. I then stamped the flowers, bird cage and number stamp in Old Olive, Marina Mist and Early Espresso. I then inked up the bird in Early Espresso and stamped it on top. For the scrunched up seam binding, I took a piece of Very Vanilla that is much longer than what I needed and on one end I looked for a thread or two in the center that runs horizontally and kept pulling it to gather the seam binding. I then adhered the ends under the DSP to hold it in place. For my tag, I stamped my greeting from Tiny Tags stamp set and punched it out with the coordinating punch. I added some linen thread at the top and placed it under my Marina Mist Satin Ribbon that I simply tied in a knot and added using a glue dot.  I hope you enjoy and thanks to Shalae for an awesome idea.

Cupcake Birthday

Have you seen this Create a Cupcake set on page 22 of the Occasions Mini Catalog? Oh my goodness! It is so cute and so much fun to play with. That is if you have the matching Build a Cupcake Punch.  You may remember this card. I loved that layout so much I decided to duplicate it for this card and I love how it turned out. I began by running my Early Espresso card stock through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polkadots Impression Folder. Next I added some Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon over some Regal Rose DSP from the Brights collection. I added it on the left hand side. I then added a pice of Kraft punched with the XL Decorative Label punch with dimensionals. I then added a layer of Whisper White with the 1 3/4" punch with dimensionals. For my cupcake, I stamped the top in Regal Rose and punched it out with the Cupcake Punch and did the same for the bottom using Early Espresso. I adhered those to the Whisper White circle. For the cherry, I punched one cherry out of Wild Wasabi and one out of the Red Glimmer paper. I cut off the stem from the glimmer paper and added just the cherry on over the Wild Wasabi cherry. I then glued that to the top of the cupcake. All that was left is my greeting that I stamped with Early Espresso and punched out using the Word Window punch and adhered with SNAIL. It's so fun and happy!
