Monday Morning Flowers

How are you all today? I hope you had a great weekend! The weather here was just gorgeous. One fun thing I did this weekend was to have the ladies from our Sunday School class over for a Ladies Night Out where everyone brought a yummy dessert. We had all kinds of goodness and some really "sweet" time of fellowship together. Since it was here and since I love entertaining and crafting, I decided to make everyone a little something to take home with them. 

The colors were inspired by the plates and napkins I found at Target. You can just see the edge of them in the left hand side of the top photo. I found some cute ribbon that matched the color and patterns perfectly. I filled some small cello bags with spring colored kisses and added them to the cute little white buckets that I have had for awhile. I added the flowers to dress them up a bit. Tempting Turquoise was the closest thing I had to the color so I made it work. I used the Fun Flowers Die from the Occasions Mini to make them. It is the smallest flower on the die in Turquoise plus a white circle from the die and a So Saffron center, also from the die. I ran the flowers through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Impression Folder and the Saffron Centers went through using the Square Lattice Impression Folder. The leaves are made from the Butterfly die using Certainly Celery Stock. The tag was created with the Tiny Tags stamp set and matching punch. I adhered the tags with a Pretty in Pink brad and then I added a dimensional under the white center to hold it all together and give it some depth. I then added the flower to the ribbon using a couple of glue dots.  I think they turned out cute. These along with the tulips is making me more anxious for Spring to arrive. How about you? Button Buttons

For this card I was inspired by Angie Tieman's card. It was so bright and fun. I have also noticed that some people are stamping the tape measure stamp on a piece of Daffodil Delight grosgrain ribbon so I thought I would try that as well. I began with a Whisper White base that I added some texture using the Perfect Polka Dots Impression folder. Next I stamped the "buttons" image on Tempting Turquoise in Black and cut it out. I also stamped some buttons from the Button, Button set in Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight. I cut those out and added crystal effects to them. I then layered them using dimensionals. For my ribbon I stamped it with Black ink. (set it aside to dry a bit before you handle it) Once my ribbon is dry, I added it, beginning at the edge of the Tempting Turquoise with adhesive and then added my Fabric Brad. Now is when you will want to mount your "button" card using dimensionals. I then used glue dots to adhered the ribbon in various spots across the front and wrapped to the back of the Whisper White. Concord Bliss

I decided to use a little Concord Crush today as I haven't used my In Colors nearly as much as I should, other than Pear Pizzaz, I love it. I began with a Concord Crush base and added a layer of Pear Pizzaz and Concord Crush DSP (free hostess item, gotta love that) For my focal point I stamped the beautiful Bliss background image in Pear Pizzaz on Whisper White. That piece is layered on on Concord Crush and then mounted with dimensionals on a layer of Pear Pizzaz and then mounted it on the base with dimensionals. I stamped the butterfly in Concord Crush and cut it out with my snips and added some rhinestones to the body. I added it using glue dots. I stamped my greeting from You're a Gem in Concord Crush on Whisper White and added some 2nd & 3rd generation flowers in Pear Pizzaz & punched with my large oval punch. I mounted that on a scallop oval of Concord Crush. For some texture I used some Certainly Celery Satin ribbon that I gathered. It wraps around the Pear Pizzaz base and is adhered under the scallop oval with glue dots. I also added a few other glue dots to keep it in place. For the Antique Brad I wanted it to have a little white on it so I pounced it on my Whisper White craft pad and polished the top with a paper towel to remove all but what went into the groove. This is added to the scallop oval & the oval is added with dimensionals. (Yes I love dimensionals!) See you tomorrow!

Aviary 4 You

I started with this card layout today and had originally intended to use a totally different stamp set. I realized that set wasn't working the way I wanted it to so I pulled my Aviary set out came up with this. I began with a Basic Black 4 1/4" square card that I trimmed about 3/4" short on side. That is where I added a strip of Cherry Cobbler that I punched using the scallop border punch. I then added more Cherry Cobbler to the front with a layer of Fine Print DSP. Next, I took my Very Vanilla card stock and I stamped my bird case in River Rock, then added my Cherry Cobbler bird. I then colored some pearls black with a sharpie and added to to give some texture to the case. I then layered this piece of a piece of Cherry Cobbler and used dimensionals to apply it. To finish it off with a little more texture, I added some Soft Suede ink to a piece of Real Red Satin ribbon to get it closer to the Cherry Cobbler look. I think it works well. And then my greeting is from Tiny Tags and I stamped it on a Mini Vintage Tag. That's it. I hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Birthday Bakery Mambo

 

The title sounds like a new dance, doesn't it. It actually sounds like one I might like to try. On to the card. It's a pretty busy day for me so that means a quick card. I pulled out another piece of Early Espresso for the base, are you tired of it yet? I added a piece of Melon Mambo DSP. I then stamped my cute bakery items & greeting in Black Stazon on a piece of Shimmery White stock.  Isn't this a fun set? It's a Level 1 hostess set called Birthday Bakery.  I then colored the images in with ink pads and a blender pen (colors: Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzaz, Melon Mambo & Blush Blossom) I then added a little dazzling diamonds on some of the frosting for a little "sanding sugar" look. I adhered this to a piece of Pear Pizzaz card stock and added some Melon Mambo pompom trim & an Old Olive button. This whole thing was then added to the base using dimensionals. There you have it. Sew Suite Spools

Hi all! I hope you are having a great Monday. It is sunny and 70 degrees here right now. I can't explain to you how happy that makes me. 

For today's card I began with an Early Espresso base that I added two strips of Sweet Stitches DSP to. I then stamped my greeting from Kind Thanks on Tempting Turquoise and punched it out with the my Decorative Label punch that I love so much and just used a portion to adhere to the card. I then stamped the tape measure in Early Espresso across the top of the DSP. For some texture I added the Daffodil Delight Grosgrain Ribbon in a bow. For the spools I stamped each one three times. Once on Very Vanilla, Once on Crumb Cake and once each on Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise & Melon Mambo. I then cut all three out to get just the portion I needed to layer on the Very Vanilla base. Crumb Cake for the spool and the colors are for the thread. I added these with some dimensionals and there you have it.  See you soon!

Beautiful Eggs

 

One of the things that first caught my eye in the Nature Walk stamp set in the Occasions Mini was the eggs. I loved the detail they had cut into the stamp itself. That is why I wanted to showcase them on this card. I began with an Early Espresso card base that I ran through my Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper Impression Folder, only on the top half of the card. For the focal point, I stamped the eggs on a piece of Natural Ivory stock in Black Stazon ink. I then colored them using Bashful Blue, Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight ink using my Aqua Painter. Did you notice how the Daffodil turned a little green?  That is why I decided to pull in the Old Olive Satin Ribbon. Once my eggs were colored, I shaded around them with Blush Blossom as I always do when water-coloring. Next, I paper pierced the top edge and distress the edge with my cutter tool set. I did the same thing to a piece of Pacific Point that is 1/4" taller. I then sponged the edges of both using some Soft Suede ink. Next came the Old Olive Satin Ribbon that I pleated using sticky strip. I topped end off with a vintage brad. Finally I created the tag using the Tiny Tags set in Early Espresso and Old Olive ink. I tied it around the brad using some linen thread.

Congratulations

This is just two quick cards I put together using this oh so cute Baby Steps stamp set, which you can get for free during Sale-A-Bration. Sorry the photos aren't so great. It was kind of cloudy when I took these. I tried to lighten them but I'm only so good at that. But, I think you will still get the idea. Both cards are made the same way, I just used two different colors. For the yellow one I used Delightful Daffodil & for the pink one I combined two pinks because I do not have Regal Rose satin ribbon so I used Pretty in Pink & Regal Rose together. Both of the DSPs on these cards comes from the Brights Paper Pack on page 175 of the Idea Book & Catalog. I stamped my focal points in their respective color and used a Basic Black marker to color in the words. I rounded the corners and added some demensionals and a button for a little extra texture. For some softness I added the Satin Ribbon that has a double layer with the banner ends. That was placed over the Whisper White scallop border strip. These are very simple cards but I love how they turned out. Now I'm ready for the next baby shower be it a boy or a girl. I hope you all have a great Thursday!

Elizabeth Mojo

I did a little stamping yesterday. Things were going a little slow in the creative department for a sketch. Do you ever have that happen? So, I decided I would take my lead from someone else. I went to the Mojo Monday Sketch for this week's inspiration.  

For the base, I used Basic Black and then layered on some Fine Print DSP. I then cut out a scallop circle with the Scallop Circle #2 die with my Big Shot and another piece of Fine Print DSP. I distressed the circle by wading it into a ball and flatting it out and then I sponged the edges of both of these using Soft Suede ink. For my focal point I used the lovely Elizabeth stamp, which you can get for FREE during Sale-A-Bration, in Basic Black ink on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock. I then stamped it again on Very Vanilla and once more of Cherry Cobbler. I then stamped my greeting from Grateful Greetings in the center of the Very Vanilla layer & I cut out the centers of the last two piece and layered them together on the base layer using dimensionals. Then I distress the edges of the Basic Black layer and the Very Vanilla layered and sponged them with Soft Suede ink. Did you notice the shade of the ribbon and the button? There isn't a Cherry Cobble Satin Ribbon or button so I used Real Red and used some Soft Suede ink on the ribbon to "dirty" it up a bit. I just the same sponge I had for distressing the card stock. Since it is water-based ink, I couldn't use that on my plastic button, so I used a muddy brown colored sharpie on it just like I would on my rhinestones or pearls. I then tied my ribbon around and mounted my focal point with some dimensionals. There you have it. My youngest son was so sweet. When he saw my finished card, he said, "Wow mom, that card looks like it should be in a magazine." He's a keeper!

Create a Melon Mambo Cupcake

I'm not very creative with my titles, incase you hadn't noticed. Hopefully that doesn't reflect on my stamping abilities.  I went with another Color Coach Combo of Melon Mambo, Old Olive & Basic Gray. I began with the Basic Gray base and ran it through the Big Shot using the new Framed Tulip Impression Folder. Next I layered some Old Olive and Melon Mambo DSP in strips on a Whisper White base. You can't see the base, it is just there for structure. I then stamped my greeting in Basic Black on the bottom Olive strip. I then added some Melon Mambo Pompom Trim (too cute) and mounted this piece on my base with dimensionals.  To create my cupcake I stamped Old Olive on Whisper White for the base and added a Basic Gray ribbon and punched it out. I then stamped the "frosting" in Melon Mambo and punched it out. I then took a Whisper White 2 3/8" scallop circle and added my cupcake using dimensionals. A little button and thread finish it off. For a finishing touch, I punched holes in each of the scallops using my 1/16" circle punch. This was mounted with double layered dimensionals to accommodate the pompom trim and the extra layering.
