Fun to Stamp

I {Heart} Hearts Glimmer

Happy Monday to you!  I hope you had a great weekend. I thought I would share a Valentine card I made with the I {Heart} Hearts set. I had to add a little glimmer paper to it since I am totally addicted to it right now. I'm telling you, if you have ever been frustrated with glitter paper that leaves more glitter on you than your card, you're going to love this paper. The glitter stays on the paper where it belongs. 

I started with a base of Crumb Cake (the old Kraft) and added some texture with my Perfect PolkaDots Impression Folder. *Tip: if you only want texture at the top of your card, like I did, I turned my impression folder perpendicular to my card front to create a "T" shape before running it through the Big Shot. 

Next, I added some Real Red DSP from the Brights Collection and I added some DSP from the Fine Print Collection as well. On top of that is some Real Red Satin ribbon. Then I took the  Decorative Label punch in Basic Black & I ran through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Impression Folder. I then stamped my heart image in Basic Black and cut it out & added it on top of the Decorative Label piece. Then you will see the lovely glimmer paper heart that I punched out with the Heart to Heart punch. (All of these layers were added with dimensionals to this point.) And finally I added my little banner that is stamped in Basic Black on Very Vanilla. It is adhered with a glue dot. I colored a rhinestone with a black sharpie for a little extra shimmer and added it to the banner. I really like how it turned out and I hope you do too!

 

Sew Sweet in Wild Wasabi

I thought we would lighten things up a bit with a bright and cheery Sew Suite card. This set has so many fun elements to it. And check out that cool brad. Those are called Sweet Stitched Fabric Designer Brads and can be found on page 36 of the Occasions Mini catalog. I started with a Wild Wasabi base and added some Sweet Stitches DSP to the bottom, two layers. Then some of the fantastic new Pompom Trim in Melon Mambo. Isn't that fun. You could use glue dots to adhere it but I used some Tombo Multi Glue and it worked great. I then added the measuring tape stamped image above that in Wild Wasabi ink for a little added interest. Up next is the focal point stamped on Shimmery White card stock with Black Stazon and colored the sewing machine in with my aqua painter and ink from the stamp pad lids. I added a little faux stitching around the edges to make it pop a little more. Then I finished the whole thing off with that cute Sweet Stitches Brad. Too fun! 

Nature Walk for a Queen

Yesterday's Nature Walk seemed to be a big hit so I thought I'd share another one. I coupled it with the "Queen for a Day" greeting from the You're a Gem set on page 25 of the Occasions Mini. I'm really loving that set. It seems to be a great size and has unusual, but versatile greetings. I began this card with a Not Quite Navy base that I stamped the bird cage, eggs and number stamp on with Not Quite Navy ink. I then added two layers of DSP from the Botanical Gazette series of paper. Up next is the focal point of the bird cage on Very Vanilla stock that I stamped with Not Quite Navy and Early Espresso. The greeting is also in Early Espresso. (I just cut the banner free hand) I then sprayed both pieces with the Log Cabin Smooch Spritz. I distressed the focal point added the scallop border in Early Espresso. Then I commenced to distressing sponging everything with Early Espresso Ink. For a final touch I added some Very Vanilla Seam Binding from the mini on page 16 using some sticking strip and an Antique Brad. Add a good handful of dimensionals and there you have it.  I'll see tomorrow with a little more clean and crisp card.

Nature Walk

I have another Occasions Mini Catalog sample for you today. It uses the set called Nature Walk on page 27. I also used the new Fun Flowers die on page 39 for some added accent. I think those flowers are just great. I began with a Early Espresso card base and added 3 layers of DSP from the coordinating paper called Botanical Gazette on page 26. The Early Espresso layer was run through the Vintage Wallpaper Impression folder before I tore it. Next, I stamped my image with Old Olive and Cherry Cobble ink on Very Vanilla Stock. The bee and the word stamps were all done in Early Espresso. I then distressed the edges of the vanilla with the Cutter Kit and a sponge. I cut out the flower in Cherry Cobbler and crumpled it a bit  and sponged the edges to give it a distressed look as well. I finished it off with some Old Olive Satin Ribbon and an Old Olive button with some linen thread holding a tiny tag stamped with the You're a Gem set on page 25. And I can't forget the dimensionals under the focal point and flower.

Sew Suite

Hello Monday Morning. Do you love Monday or hate Monday? There doesn't seem to be many people that are in the middle on this one. I don't really mind Mondays. I like a routine and Monday brings a routine with it for us.

So, what stamp sets did you think I would go for in the new Occasions Mini? Was it Sew Suite? I didn't think so. I actually do know how to sew, I just don't really enjoy it near as much as stamping. For me, sewing is a necessity, therefore  you will probably not ever see any sewing on one of my cards. Sad, I know but true. 

I love this little set and think that the DSP is just "sweet." You can find them on pages 5 & 6 of the Occasions Mini. For the background, I ran some Melon Mambo from the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions folder and then added a piece of DSP from the Sweet Stitches pack. (hint: layer it on a piece of Whisper White and it will add strength to if if you are going to mount it with dimensionals and it will stay nice and crisp for you.) I did round the corners on the left side only.  Next is some Whisper White Organza ribbon. I then stamped the dress form in Basic Black on some Whisper White stock and again on a piece of DSP from the same pack. I cut out just the top of the dress form and applied it on the Whisper White layer. This is then mounted on a piece of Garden Green Stock and raised with dimensionals. I also got the Button, Button stamp set on page 34 and used it with Versa Mark on a piece of Garden Green Stock. I then added my greeting in Basic Black, it is from the You're a Gem set on page 25. I punched them out with the 1" circle punch and mounted with dimensionals. To finished off the card, I did add some rhinestones. Some clear ones on the waist of the dress form and some black on on the feet of the dress form. I love the added texture & it of course ties in the greeting.

Love Impressions 4

I hope this Sunday finds you all doing great! Today's card is the final in the series. As you can see I chose to stick with Red instead of pink on these cards. I have nothing against pink, Red just happens to be my favorite. If you look at the Rub-On sheets you will see that there is a heart in the greeting that is pink. I choose to leave that off and added a glimmer heart in Red in it's place. Otherwise, I used the same supplies as the other 3 cards.

Love Impressions 3

Happy Saturday! Do you have big plans for the weekend? My club girls are coming this morning and we are going to have some great fun stamping.

Here is card #3 in the Love Impressions Rub-Ons series. All of the same colors and supplies as the previous 2 cards, but the focal point on this one is spread out a little bit more rather than being punched out. I did cut out the greeting and layered it with dimensionals to add some, well, dimension to the card and keep it from being flat. The add even more texture, I added some red rhinestones along the edge of the balloon and of course just a touch of Real Red Glimmer paper. Love it!

Love Impressions 2

As promised, here is Card # 2 in the series of Love Impressions Rub-Ons from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Have you seen the mini yet? Stop! Go check it out. You're going to love it!

You're going to notice that all of these cards have the same color scheme and tools used in them. This one begins with a Whisper White base that I ran through the Big Shot again, with the Perfect Polka Dots Impression folder. Next, I added some Real Red DSP, in stripe this time. I then added some Basic Grey that I cut into a rectangle, added some rub-ons and rounded the corners. I added my clouds and then the balloon to a piece of Basic Black stop and punched it out with the 1 3/4" circle punch. I layered this on a piece of Whisper White, with dimensionals, that was punched out using the 2 3/8" large circle scallop punch. I then layered it with dimensionals on the Basic Grey layer. I finished the balloon off with some more Red Glimmer paper that I punched out using the Heart to Heart punch. And for a little added bling, I add two rhinestones that I colored with a red sharpie marker to the corners of the Basic Grey layer.  I love special somethin' somethin' that the glimmer paper adds. Happy 2011

Hello Gang!  Thanks for being patient while I took a little break from blogging. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a Bless New Year. I thought about sharing a bunch of Christmas cards that I never got around to uploading but I have decided to just move on because the new Occasions Mini Catalog is available and there are some fabulous things in there that I have been playing with. 

I thought I would start off with Valentines Day. Stampin' Up! added some adorable Rub-Ons in the Mini called Love Impressions on page 8. So for the new 4 days I will share a card each day that I made with these rub-ons. I was on a roll and thought that now would be a good time to get those Valentine cards made so I don't panic at the last minute like I would normally do.

Now, as much as I love those rub-ons, I also love the new Glimmer Paper on page 7. It is so yummy & and for a girl who's favorite color is red and it is glittery, I'm just speechless. A little of this stuff goes a long way. Take this card for example. Had I filled the card with glimmer paper, the pop of the little heart just simply would be lost.  So, what I did was start with a Basic Black base that I ran through my Big Shot to get the Polk-a-Dot background for texture. Next, I added some Real Red DSP on the left hand side. On top of that is some Real Red Satin ribbon. Then using dimensionals, I added a piece of Basic Grey that I punched out with the Decorative Label punch.  I then added a layer of Whisper White that has my rub-on added to it. I punched it out with the 1 3/4" circle punch. It also has dimensionals behind it. See the little "love you" greeting? That is also a rub-on from the set and is mounted on some Whisper White stock. It is added with two dimensionals stacked on top of each other only on the right hand side to make up the difference of the other layers beneath it. Then, the final touch is the cute little Red Glimmer Heart. (Heart to Heat punch) I'll see you tomorrow with the second in the series.
