Merry Christmas

We are headed out of town to visit family for a few days so you will not see me around here for awhile but I wanted to leave you with a beautiful photo of what Christmas means to me and my family.  I love the wonder and amazement that this photo shows.  I pray that you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and find a renewed meaning of what Christmas really is all about.  I'll see you around the new year.

Last Minute Gift?

Do you need a last minute gift idea?  How about a stack of yummy Chocolate Chip Cookies?  Everyone loves them. I used a Stampin' Up! cello bag to wrap these up and toped them with a cute tag.  I made the tag out of Kraft card stock with a little craft white snow flake (Holiday Blitz) and some Old Olive card stock along the bottom.  I then constructed the tree out of the Ski Slope DS paper and added a star using my star punch.  Then hug it with some string on a Real Red striped ribbon bow.  Another idea I had was to make the cookie dough and roll it into a long to freeze for later use.  That would be even quick since you wouldn't have to bake the cookies and let them cool. I hope this helps you out with a quick easy last minute gift.    Yummy!

KWerner Color Challenge #35

It's time for another color challenge.  It is Kristina's 35th Color Challenge.  I thought these colors were very pretty.  I decided to use the A Happy Heart stamp set again.  I also joined them with the Windsor Knot paper since it has the Chocolate Chip and So Saffron in it.  I stamped the heart image in Saffron and Baja Breeze and cut them out.  I adhered the Saffron one to the Chocolate Chip striped paper and then added the Baja one using dimensionals.  The greeting was stamped in Chocolate Chip and punched out with the word window punch.  I also added a little Baja button that I put some Chocolate Chip grosgrain through.  Did you notice the paper piercing.  I know some of you do not like it but I really think it can make a big impact on a card.  Just give it a little practice until you get comfortable with it and then you will be as crazy about it as I am.  Just remember to use the lines on the template as a guide so your lines are straight and even.  I did feel like it was little flat so I added some dazzling diamonds here and there (just a touch) on the Baja heart.  What do you think?  It's another rainy day here so it's not the best photo.  What's with me and rainy day stamping?  That's a great time to stamp, don't you think.  It's just not the best time to take photos.  

Snowman

I thought that I would try my hand at making a snowman out of the Top Note Die for the Big Shot and this is what I came up with.  I wanted to be certain that it would still fit in a standard size envelope.  I think it worked out.  For the base I used a piece of whisper white cut to 4 1/4" x 11".  Then I folded it in half and lined the fold just shy of the cutting edge on the die.  I cut the black rectangle for his at out of Basic Black at 3 3/4" x 2" and the second piece is 4 1/4" x 3/4".  The Real Red grosgrain ribbon is just adhered with SNAIL.  The holy was created with the 5 petal flower punch.  I just sniped off two petal.  The berries are also a punch.  The eyes are the 3/4" punch.  I made the hole in a triangle with a pair of scissors and a scrap piece of pumpkin pie.  I did his cheeks in Pink Pirouette with a sponge dauber.  It's hard to see because it is so dark and rainy here today.  If you click on the photo it will enlarge it and should give you a better view of him.  I think he's cute.  I did try to put a mouth on him but I was not satisfied with anything so I decided to leave it off for now.

 

KWerner Color Challenge #34

Hi Gang.  I had the time to do a little stamping so I decided to participate in Kristina's 34th color challenge.  It's hard to believe there have been that many.  I wish I could have participated in more.  This week's colors were Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Bordering Blue, Certainly Celery & Sage Shadow.  Certainly Celery is the only one that I use with any frequency so this was a little tricky for me, but I like how it turned out.  I used my Top Note Die to create a pocket out of Perfect Plum for a pull out that can house a gift card or just a little note if you like.  I used the Round Tab punch for the pull out.  The designer paper is called Windsor Knot.  The ribbon is certainly celery. The snow flakes are sizzlits for the Big Shot cut out of Pale Plum.  I layered two of them together & snipped the ends off of the top layer to give a little more dimension.  To incorporate the Blue, I used a blue rhinestone brad in the center of the snowflakes.  The greeting is from the Chit Chat Rub-ons.  I guess that covers.  It's not the best photo as we are in thunderstorm weather. You know what they say right?  If it thunders in the winter, there will be snow 10 days later.  Here's hoping for a little white Christmas.  

You Rock Graduate!

This is my attempt at turning this into a "cool" graduation card.  The hat was a little tricky to create.  I think I can live with it, or maybe not.  It depends on how my OCD is the next time I look at it.  For today, it's fine.  It is Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.  See ya!

You Rock!

I have had this set and had not used it.  Isn't it fun!  I had a lot of fun creating this card.  It's hard to tell in the photo but the teeth have dazzling diamonds glitter on them.  The DS is the Sweet Always Paper.  I really like it with this stamp set.  Check back tomorrow for a boy version.

Ornament Card/Treat

I'm so sorry to have left for so long.  Time has just gotten away from me lately.  I guess it is that time of year.  I thought I would share with you a quick little card and gift idea.  I used my large scallop die in the big shot to create these ornament cards.  This such a quick and easy card to do with the help of the big shot.  I also cute some Ski Slope DS paper for the bottom.  Stamped a little greeting and tied on some ribbon.  For the top of the ornament, I used the round tab punch and added some gold brads.  But for many the inside is the real treat.
