Fun to Stamp

One More?

Can you stand one more Happy Heart?  How about 2?  I have one more but I'll try to come up with something else before I post it.  I have a bunch of scrapbook pages I need to finish today but I will try to squeeze in another card that doesn't use this stamp set.  I can't help it.  It is so cute.  Same colors as the last 2 with the addition of a little build a brad and some paper piercing.  See you later.

Another Happy Heart

Can you guess which stamp set I have been playing with lately?  I have a tendency to get a new stamp set and just play with that for a long time.  Can you tell?  How about the DS paper?  I just can't help myself.  This is a little 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" card.  I embossed the heart on Regal Rose card stock with white embossing powder.  I stamped the date and punched it out with the 1" circle punch and layered it on dimensionals, same with the heart and same with the layer under the polka dots.  Do you think I like dimensionals too?  The card base is on textured Chocolate Chip card stock but you can't really tell that from the photo.  Hope you like it!

A Happy Heart

I think this is the sweetest stamp set.  It is called A Happy Heart and can be found in the Holiday Mini catalog. The DS paper is also very fun.  It is the Sweet Always set.  Not a stretch to figure our I would love it, it has Chocolate Chip in it after all.  I began by inking up the top of the flower with Regal Rose.  I then used a marker to add a Chocolate Chip stem and words.  I then added a pink rhinestone brad to the center.  This Whisper White piece is raised with dimensionals and then layered on a piece of Regal Rose and is then raised again with more dimensionals.  The rose grosgrain ribbon goes behind the Whisper White layer.  Sweet is the only word I can find to describe it.  I hope it is sweet to you as well.

Color Challenge #31

I'm back again for today.  I'm sorry to be gone for so long.  I'm going to try to post a few things for you in the next couple of days.  I did want to play along for Kristina's color challenge again.  Tricky color combo for me. There actually isn't any stamping on this card.  I only used rub-ons.  All of these images are from the Anchored set.  Did you know you could order the rub-ons right now for 20 % off when you place a $20 order?  Click here for the details.  The Close to Cocoa was the hardest color for me to work into the card but I did it by using a vintage brad in the Pumpkin Pie star. Sneaky huh?  I like how the large star turned out.  I used the rub-on on acetate.  I adhered it with glue dots down in the corner so it would not show.  The DS paper is from the Summer Picnic package.  It is layered on So Saffron and then on the Elegant Eggplant.  The ribbon is also Elegant Eggplant.

Scandinavian Snowflake

Hi all.  Sorry to be MIA for so long.  I am working on a big project that I can't share with you just yet but I did want to pop in and say hello and share a quick card for Kristina's latest color challenge.  I apologize for the darkness of the photo as well.  It is a cold rainy day here today.  I'm not sure this is the most Christmasy card, it killed me not to put some red on it, but I do think it is nice and soothing.  You can see the color combos in the thumbnail at the left.  I was able to use my Big Shot Biz die for the first time. Too fun.  I added some Ski Slope DS paper for the Old Olive color.  I also added some Chit Chat rub-ons for the greeting.  I hope you like it. Pumpkins

Many of you may have seen these pumpkins already, but I thought I would share the ones I made with you.  The larger one is Pumpkin Pie rolled with the jumbo Spot On Wheel and VersaMark.  I used the Juncto DS paper on the smaller pumpkin.  They both have 5/8" Chocolate Chip for the stem.  The "leaves" on the Large pumpkin are 5/8" Old Olive and the ribbon on the small pumpkin is Always Artichoke.  I was able to get the small ribbon to curl (like you would ribbon on a package) but not the wide ribbon.  I added a little tag with a Thanksgiving greeting.  Wouldn't the small ones be cute as place cards on a Thanksgiving table?

The large pumpkin is one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 and the small pumpkin is 8 x 6.  The strips are each cut at 1" width. The large pumpkin has 11 strips and the small pumpkin has 8 strips.  To make these, you stack the strips you cute and punch a hole through the whole stack (use the crop-a-dile) on either end.  You will then run ribbon through both ends and knot on each end.  You can adjust the height of the of the ribbon at this point.  Notice at the to of each of my pumpkins I had the ribbon make a loop.  Tie your ribbon leaves on, add your tag, fan out the strips and that's it.  

Twix Treat

Remember this cute little pumpkin card from last week?  I thought it would also be cute on a bag topper.  I used the Juncto DS paper to make the pumpkins.  The ribbon is Chocolate Chip and Always Artichoke.  So simple. Who wouldn't smile if they received one of these?

One More Faux Suede

Don't blink too fast or you might miss the Faux Suede on this card.  It is the small star punch.  The base Kraft Card Stock.  The designer paper is Riding Hood Red and Baja Breeze.  The ribbon is Riding Hood Red.  The white circle is made using 2 circle punches.  Add some dimensionals and there you have it.

More Faux Boho Style

I worked on some more faux suede samples.  You can find the tutorial on how to do this technique here.   I posted these last week.   Below is another sample.  Notice the bottom of the card?  That's Kraft that I turned into faux suede.  I will warn you that the larger the piece of card stock the more tedious it is.  Check back tomorrow to see what I did with the other half of the kraft card stock.  This card uses the Boho Backgrounds with Chocolate Chip, Not Quite Navy, Kraft & Ruby Red.  I put a build-a-brad in the center of the focal point.  

   

Too Cute Turkey

 Have you seen this guy before?  Isn't he cute?  I give Stampin' Up! full credit for this creation.  It was a sample in last month's newsletter that the send to demonstrators.  I used the designer paper that is a free hostess option in the catalog.  I thought it added a little flair.  His other body parts are all punches as well.  I do not have photos of how to create the "feathers" but I will do my best to describe it.  There is a semi drawing below.  The dotted lines are folds.  In image 6, the lines represent the folds on the backside.  Look at the card for a better idea of image 6.  I hope this helps.

* Punch out your three scallop circles.

* Fold each as follows:

* Fold up including 5 scallops

* Flip over and fold in half down the center

* Open up and keep it lying with the turned up scallop facing down

* Now fold each bottom side in toward the middle (like a paper airplane)
