I have many people ask me how to tie a pretty knot. I have put together some picutres and instructions below. I hope this helps you all type A personalities out there like me. :-)
Step 1: Left over right. (See the first two images below.)

Step 2: Pull your tail on the left down to resemble the image below. This will allow you to hold the knot still with your middle finger. (See image 3)

Step 3: Right over left. Cross the right tail over the left. (See image 4)

Step 4: Loop this tail under to form your knot. (See image 5)

Step 5: Pull to tighten but pull more with the left and very little with the right. (See image 6)

Step 6: Trim the tails evenly for a nice "Type A" finished look. (See image 7)

Thanks! I'm going to try this tonight! My knots never look good!

I have been struggling with this very thing. Last night it took me over 20 minutes to tie a knot (still hated it, but it would have to do.)
Thanks!

Thank you very much. I love this - I have wanted this. Is this your way of not having to tie my bows?

I'm trying this with the sheer/organdy ribbon and these don't look "quite" the same. I think it's because the sheer ties "tighter". Any suggestions?
Thanks!!! Nice Tutorial!

The organdy definitely ties "tighter". Just be sure to pull as much with the left hand as you can to get that knot to roll over. One thing you might try is to tighten it until the knot looks "pretty" without overtightening it and if you can hide the back of the ribbon, you could then cut the back in half and tape it down.
I hope this helps. Let me know how it turns out.
